Time Race at Emergency: Breathtaking Rally From Nursing Students in BAÜN

Balıkesir University Faculty of Health Sciences, Nursing Department was held in the “Emergency Nursing Student Rally” for students. During the day-long event, students were conducted academic and practical studies in the guidance of academicians.

University of Balıkesir Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu and Rector Assistants Prof. Dr. Cevdet Avcıkurt and Prof. Dr. Murat Doğdubay, as well as Balıkesir Provincial Health Director Dr. Miraç Çavdar, General Manager of Youth Services Dr. Enes Efendioğlu, Managing Director of Balıkesir Youth Center and Civil Society Representative Ersin Powerful with Balıkesir UMKE Provincial Officer Metin Atik and his team also supported the event as a stakeholders.

Balıkesir University of Health Culture Sports Department of Life Tissues Student Community Advisor Prof. The project prepared by Dr. Arzu Tuna was supported under ÜNIDES. Faculty of Health Sciences at the Event Prof. Dr. Sibel Ergün, Head of Nursing Department Prof. Dr. Sibel Karaca Sivrikaya, with the members of the Department of Surgery Nursing, faculty academicians and the Nursing Department from environmental provinces, also took an active role.

Within the scope of the program, check lists were prepared for nursery care for the most common 10 cases in emergency services. Each case was scored by the members of the lecturer. At the end of the day, groups formed by 100 nursing students were evaluated according to case management performances and rewarded with medals and trophies.

The event that stands out with the practical education approach has made significant contribution to the development of fast and accurate decision-making skills in the crisis moments of students.
